Alozie and Kanu give the Super Falcons a 2-0 start on the road to Los Angeles

Ikenne — Nigeria's Super Falcons beat Comoros 2-0 on Friday in the first leg of their second-round qualifier for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Premium Times reports.
Michelle Alozie scored in the 48th minute and Uchenna Kanu added the second in the 60th at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
Nigeria dominated the first half without scoring. The two goals after the break give them a comfortable lead before the return leg.
What comes next
The second leg is on Tuesday 13 October at the same stadium.
The winners go through to the third round, to be played between 23 February and 6 March 2027, against either DR Congo or Morocco. Only two African teams will qualify for the Olympics.
Nigeria had a bye into this round as one of Africa's three top-ranked teams. Comoros got here by beating Sudan 30-0 on aggregate.
On the bench
Augustine Eguavoen is in charge as interim coach. His staff includes Christopher Danjuma, the former Super Falcons defender Ayisat Yusuf, who won 68 caps, and the goalkeeper trainer Olatunji Baruwa.
