We are building a network of writers, reporters and photographers across Africa and the diaspora. If you know your beat and can get the facts right, we want to hear from you.
Who we are looking for
- Reporters and correspondents — people who can cover a city, a country or a subject from the ground.
- Writers and analysts — features, explainers and opinion from people who know their field.
- Photographers and video journalists — original pictures and footage, properly captioned.
You do not need to have worked for a big newsroom. You do need to be accurate, to name your sources and to write clearly, in English or French.
What to send
Where you are based, what you would cover, a few sentences about your experience, and a link to something you have written, photographed or filmed if you have one.
What happens next
An editor reads every application. If there is a fit, we will email you an invitation to our newsroom, where you write and file your stories. Every story is reviewed by an editor before it is published, and published under your own name. We may not be able to reply to every application individually.

Everything we publish must meet our editorial standards: your own work, checked facts, no plagiarism, and conflicts of interest declared. Sending an application does not create an agreement between us.
