Ghana's national amputee football team, the Black Challenge, have stepped up their preparations for the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico, MyJoyOnline reports.

All 15 players named in the squad trained at Mensah Sarbah Park at the University of Ghana on Thursday. Coach Richard Obeng said the players were making good progress as they work to regain full fitness and reach their peak.

Ghana are in Group D with Angola, Iraq and Colombia, which MyJoyOnline describes as a tough route to the knockout rounds. "Every game we play is a final," Obeng said, adding that the team wants to make Ghana, their families and the African continent proud.

The squad will travel to Turkey for a training camp before flying to Mexico.
