Visitors to the Kruger National Park will find new restaurants at four of its main rest camps in the coming months, South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced, according to SAnews.

What is changing

  • Lower Sabie: the former Mugg & Bean reopens as Sabie River Café.
  • Pretoriuskop: the Wimpy becomes Le Lapeng Burgers and Grill.
  • Berg-en-Dal: Tindlovu Restaurant becomes Eziko Eatery.
  • Skukuza: the Cattle Baron is being refurbished with a fresh look and feel.

SANParks said the operators were chosen through a transparent, competitive tender that attracted several leading hospitality brands, as the previous concession agreements expired.

The new operators are expected to bring fresh ideas and investment and to contribute to economic growth and jobs. Temporary dining with limited menus will operate while the restaurants are refurbished, and SANParks expects to unveil the upgraded facilities in the coming months.
