IT services company Systems Limited plans to raise its investment in Egypt by more than 50% in 2027 and grow its local workforce from about 300 to 450 people, according to Daily News Egypt, which spoke to the head of its Egyptian business, Ahmed Kandil.

What it does in Egypt

  • It has about $10 million invested in the country, working with the communications ministry and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
  • Its clients include Orange, Vodafone and e&, and nine of Egypt's largest banks. It also runs AI and data centre projects for a telecoms company in Sudan and banking systems in Libya.
  • It is setting up digital banking centres of excellence in Egypt for two major UAE banks, staffed by Egyptian engineers serving regional markets.

Training graduates

With ITIDA, the company trains fresh graduates for three to four months, followed by six to eight months of work on real projects, including with clients. More than 80% of trainees are hired. Kandil said the first two years of hands-on experience prepare engineers for overseas projects, and that keeping skilled staff is a long-term priority. Growth in 2028 could also exceed 50%, he said.

Systems Limited, originally from Pakistan, also works in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Germany, the UK, the US and Canada.
