The University of Ghana is reopening for the 2026/2027 academic year after the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) suspended a strike that had disrupted academic activities, MyJoyOnline reports.

The university's Business and Executive Committee took the decision on 16 October, in a notice signed by Professor Gordon A. Awandare, pro vice-chancellor for academic and student affairs.

The timetable

  • From 19 October: students report to their halls of residence
  • 21 to 23 October: orientation for new students
  • 26 October: lectures begin

Students must pay their fees and complete academic registration online through the Students' STS portal or the DiGradsys portal.
