Victor Osimhen returned from injury on Friday night with a 13-minute appearance and an assist as Galatasaray beat Kasimpasa 3-1, Premium Times reports.

The Nigerian striker came on for Deniz Gul late in the game and set up a goal for the Gabonese midfielder Mario Lemina.

Why so little

Galatasaray's assistant coach, İrfan Saraloğlu, said the short spell was deliberate. "Osimhen just came back from injury, we had to protect him," he said. "We had to protect the players returning from national team duty too."

Osimhen was injured in September during a 3-2 win over Istanbul Başakşehir.

Before the injury

He had started the season with six goals and two assists in four matches. The club plans to build up his minutes gradually as he regains match sharpness.
