Bamba Dieng hits a hat-trick as Senegal's forwards shine before Vieira names his squad
Dieng, Nicolas Jackson, Boulaye Dia and Sadio Mané all scored for their clubs at the weekend.

Dakar — Senegal's attackers gave national coach Patrick Vieira plenty to think about at the weekend, days before he names his next squad.
The weekend's scorers
- Bamba Dieng scored a hat-trick for Red Star Belgrade against Mačva Šabac in Serbia, a performance that could strengthen his case for a return to the national team.
- Nicolas Jackson scored for Aston Villa in a 1-1 draw with Fulham.
- Boulaye Dia scored for Rennes, although his side lost 5-2 to Nice.
- Sadio Mané scored once and set up a goal for Cristiano Ronaldo in Al-Nassr's 5-3 win over Al-Kholood.
- Idrissa Gana Gueye scored for Al-Diriyah, who lost.
The form comes at an important moment, with Senegal in qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. Strikers scoring freely is good news for Vieira, but it may also make his choices harder.
