Juice maker Beyti plans EGP 8.7bn more investment in Egypt
The Almarai subsidiary employs 6,000 people, buys 67% of its materials locally and runs a 7.6MW solar plant.

Cairo — Beyti, the Egyptian dairy and juice company owned by Saudi Arabia's Almarai, says it has invested more than EGP 7 billion in Egypt and plans to spend EGP 8.7 billion more between 2025 and 2027.
The company says it provides about 6,000 direct jobs and 19,000 indirect ones, exports to more than 45 countries and sources 67% of its raw and packaging materials in Egypt.
The figures came at a session on sustainable manufacturing with officials from the ministries of industry and local development. General manager Chris Abboud said meeting standards is only the starting point; the aim is measurable results.
Its green steps so far
- A 7.6MW solar plant, which it calls the largest grid-connected one in Egypt's food and drinks industry, now supplies about 20% of its factory's energy; the target is 30% by 2028.
- A partial switch to natural gas from 2020, aiming to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 30%.
- About 290 tonnes of plastic waste avoided each year since 2022, and about 25,000 tonnes of cartons recycled.
By 2030 it aims for a 25% smaller carbon footprint, zero waste to landfill and fully recyclable packaging.
