How to vote

Public voting is open until 29 October and counts for 20% of the final score; the rest comes from judges and the Balearica Awards College. Winners will be announced in London on 1 November.

Visitors to Benin come for sites such as the Door of No Return in Ouidah, on the former slave route to the coast, the masks and rituals of Porto-Novo, and festivals such as the Gaani in the north.
