Angola's Wiliete SC have knocked holders Mamelodi Sundowns out of the CAF Champions League, APS reports. Friday's second-leg match at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria ended 1-1, after a 0-0 draw in Angola, so Wiliete go through to the group stage on away goals.

The match

  • 11' Tashreeq Matthews put Sundowns ahead.
  • 49' Mabululu equalised for Wiliete — the goal that settled the tie.

Sundowns, coached by José Miguel Cardoso, won the title in 2016 and 2026. Their exit at the second preliminary round is one of the biggest upsets of the season, and a statement from Angolan club football.

Elsewhere, Senegal's Teungueth FC must overturn a 2-0 first-leg home defeat when they play Colombe Sportive du Dja-et-Lobo in Cameroon on Sunday.
