Kenya won the girls' rugby sevens at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games on Monday, beating Australia 17-12 in golden point at the Iba Mar Diop complex.

Australia had beaten Kenya 17-5 in the pool stage and led several times in the first half of the final. Zain Hido and Josephine Kerubo scored in reply, and it was 12-12 at full time. In extra time Mitchelle Chemtai went over in the corner to win it. Hido, the captain, called the win life-changing for the players.

Madagascar beat Czechia 26-10 for bronze, which RugbyPass describes as the country's first Olympic medal of any kind. Hosts Senegal finished eighth.
