ABUJA, Nigeria – Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged religious leaders and faith-based organisations to strengthen cooperation in promoting peaceful coexistence, national unity and economic development.

He made the call while receiving a delegation of the Community and Youth Development National Network at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Shettima highlighted the role of religious leaders in promoting understanding among communities, encouraging responsible citizenship and mobilising support to address Nigeria’s social and economic challenges.

The organisation operates an interfaith platform that brings together religious leaders and other stakeholders to promote cooperation across religious and social divides.

Commending its outreach, the Vice President said its members could contribute to shaping public attitudes and strengthening national cohesion through their influence, experience and moral standing.

He stressed the importance of continued dialogue and shared responsibility in building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
