Kamsar — Nimba Mining Company (NMC), a bauxite miner described as entirely Guinean-owned, has signed an agreement giving it a second route to export its ore.
The deal, signed in Kamsar on Wednesday with Guinea's national mining infrastructure agency ANAIM, makes NMC a user of the 56km multi-user mining road that links the southern part of its Tinguilinta permit to the port facilities at Dapilon. The company already uses the railway corridor to the port of Kamsar.
The road is shared with other miners, including SMB, CDM, KBM, Dynamic Mining and Ashapura, so NMC joins existing infrastructure rather than building its own.
Targets for the year
NMC, created in 2025, expects to reach 9 million tonnes of bauxite by the end of November and 10 million tonnes by 31 December. That figure refers to bauxite mined; how much is exported will be the real test of the year.
"The opening of this second logistics corridor is a strategic event for NMC," said its managing director, Patrice L'Huillier, adding that it removes a bottleneck and lets the company mine and ship more from Tinguilinta.
